British tennis legend Sir Andy Murray couldn't resist a playful jibe at himself and his wife Kim.

It came after their luxury Cromlix Hotel scooped the prestigious title of Scotland's best hotel at a lavish ceremony in London, as reported by the Scottish Daily Express on Tuesday.

Taking to Instagram with snaps from the glitzy event, the sporting star quipped: "At least someone in the family can still win stuff. Congrats to my wife and all the team @cromlixhotel for winning the AA Hotel of the year award for Scotland. Not sure what's going on with her nose here."

Murray was making reference to what appeared to be a shadow on her nose, possibly due to the lighting. Fans were quick to comment on his post, with one commenting: "Congratulations Kim (Andy prob the lighting on her nose)."

Others joined in, with remarks like "We all know Kim's hairdresser is the real winner around here!", while one fan praised Andy for "the subtle art of British humour".

In another Instagram post, Kim is seen with the Cromlix team on stage receiving the accolade. Cromlix's general manager Barry Makin expressed his elation: "We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. It is the pinnacle of achievement for any Scottish hotel."

Tennis ace Andy and his wife Kim originally purchased the Cromlix Hotel, situated close to Murray's home town of Dunblane, back in 2013. The hotel had a massive revamp last year, with Kim playing a pivotal role in the new design overseen by Suzanne Garuda of Garuda Design.

Kim revealed to tennis365: "Andy and I took the management of Cromlix back into our own hands at the beginning of last year, after working with a management company for the previous ten years, and it's been a great decision for us.

"We have had much more input in the last 12 months and we feel like it's a better reflection of us as owners now, without having tennis rackets and photos of Andy throughout! The good news is that the hotel is really thriving."
