Send Push

NEW DELHI, April 13 In a thrilling encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) finally broke their losing streak in the IPL 2025 season by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 12 runs, thanks to a sensational hat-trick of run-outs in the 19th over. Mumbai posted a competitive 205-run total, and despite a strong fightback from Delhi, the match turned dramatically in Mumbai’s favor during the death overs.

Triple Run-Out Turns the Game in Mumbai’s Favor

Chasing 206, Delhi suffered an early blow on the very first ball, losing Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, Abhishek Porel (33) and Karun Nair built a strong partnership, adding 119 runs off 61 balls. Nair, returning to the IPL after three years, played a spectacular knock of 89 runs, keeping Delhi in the hunt.

With just 71 runs needed off 50 balls and wickets in hand, Delhi seemed on course. But Mumbai’s spinners and tight fielding turned the tide. The game reached a nail-biting climax in the 19th over when, at 192/7, Delhi suffered three consecutive run-outs, dashing all hopes of a comeback.

Delhi folded for 193 in 19 overs, falling just short of their target.
