India Wins Chennai Test, Defeats Bangladesh by 280 Runs: Ashwin Scores Century, Takes 6 Wickets

Chennai : The Indian team has won the first Test against Bangladesh by 280 runs. On Sunday, Bangladesh, chasing a target of 515 runs, was bowled out for 234 runs in their second innings. India now leads the two-match series 1-0, with the second Test scheduled to be played at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium starting September 27.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the hero of this victory, taking 6 wickets and scoring 113 runs in the first innings. For Bangladesh, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto made a half-century, scoring 82 runs.

Bangladesh resumed their second innings at 158/4, with Shanto adding 51 runs and Shakib contributing 5 runs. Shanto scored 82 runs while Shakib managed 25 runs before being dismissed. Indian captain Rohit Sharma declared the second innings at 287 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, setting Bangladesh a target of 515 runs. In the first innings, India scored 376 runs, while Bangladesh was bowled out for 149 runs in their first innings.
