In light of continuous and intense rainfall across the district, Deputy Commissioner C.N. Meena Nagaraj has declared a holiday for educational institutions in multiple taluks on Wednesday, July 3.
According to the official order, N.R. Pura, Koppa, Sringeri, Kalasa, and Mudigere taluks, along with Jagara, Khandya, Aldur, and Vastare hoblis under Chikkamagaluru taluk, will observe a closure of Anganwadi centres, primary and high schools, and childcare centres.
The precautionary measure comes amid heavy monsoon showers that have been lashing various parts of the district. Authorities have urged the public, especially in low-lying and hilly areas, to remain cautious. Further decisions on closures will be based on rainfall intensity in the coming days, said officials.
