KURUKSHETRA: Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari campaigned for BJP Thanesar candidate Subhash Sudha and Ladwa candidate Nayab Singh Saini in Kurukshetra district on Wednesday and sought votes for his party candidates in the upcoming Haryana state assembly elections.

In Thanesar, Gadkari addressed the Jan Aashirwaad Rally and in Ladwa, he attended an intellectual conference held in support of BJP candidates.

In his address, Nitin Gadkari said that the aim of BJP is to make farmers not only food providers but also fuel providers. “Farmers, labourers, the poor and villages have to be made prosperous and happy. Congress gave the slogan of eradicating poverty but eradicated the poverty of its followers and touts. Poverty of the people was not eradicated but the people of Congress became rich.”

Nitin Gadkari said that Haryana and Punjab are the storehouse of grains for us. “The amount of wheat and rice produced per acre in Haryana and Punjab due to the hard work of the farmers is not produced anywhere else in the country, but there is a big problem of stubble burning here. I request the farmers not to burn stubble. Stubble is now going to be the reason for prosperity for the farmers. New technology has come, about 400 plants are running in the country. Sixty plants are in Punjab and Haryana. Bio-CNG , Bio-LNG is being prepared from stubble. Indian Oil has built a very big plant in Panipat where one lakh liters of fuel is being prepared.”

Nitin Gadkari said that earlier farmers were called food providers, our government has now made them energy providers.

“Four mills are producing as much electricity as is consumed in Kurukshetra district. Last year, the farmers' maize crop was sold at Rs 1200 per quintal. We started making bioethanol from maize, now maize is being sold at Rs 2,648 per quintal. The goal of BJP is to make farmers prosperous and they are also becoming prosperous”, said Nitin Gadkari.

Nitin Gadkari said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an alliance for bio fuel. “Now airplanes will fly on this fuel, pollution will end, people will get jobs”, he said.

Nitin Gadkari said that our government made policies for the welfare of the poor, laborers, farmers. “During the time of Congress, the situation was such that wheat became cheap and biscuits became expensive, fruits became cheap and juice became expensive. But now the government is working towards reducing the expenditure cost. The focus of the BJP government is on reducing the cost and increasing the profit”, said Gadkari.

135-seater buses will run from Delhi to Chandigarh, Delhi to Jaipur

Nitin Gadkari said, “The world is changing, electric buses, cars, scooters have come in the transport sector. Now the government is building Delhi to Chandigarh, Delhi to Jaipur highway on which 135-seater buses will run and the fare will also be 30 percent less than diesel buses and these buses will be air-conditioned. Just like there are air hostesses in airplanes, similarly there will be bus hostesses in buses too.”

We will make self-reliant India, villages smart and developed

Nitin Gadkari said, “The country is changing. The future of the country is also changing. India is moving fast on the path of becoming the third economic power of the world. We are going to become a 5-trillion-dollar economy. BJP wants to make a self-reliant India and villages smart and developed too. Our goal is the upliftment of Dalits, exploited, deprived. We consider Daridra Narayan as God, we are always ready to serve him. Antyodaya (welfare of last in queue) is our objective.”
