TIRUPATI : Seven persons were killed in separate road mishaps reported at Anantapur and Tirupati districts on Sunday.
Four youngsters died in the first mishap reported near Rekulakunta in Bukkarayasamudram mandal in Anantapur district in the early hours on Sunday.
According to Anantapur SP P Jagadish, four youngsters were returning back after attending a birthday party and were heading to Narpala from Anantapur, when their speeding vehicle was hit by a truck near Rekulakunta.
All the four youngsters who were below the age of 25 years and were residents of Stalin Nagar locality in Anantapur died in the mishap. The victims were identified as Mustaq, O Pavan, Srinivasulu and Y Pavan.
Police registered a case and shifted the bodies of the deceased for postmortem.
Meanwhile, in another mishap reported near Chillakur in Tirupati district, a speeding car rammed into a stationary truck, leading to the deaths of three inmates on the car on the spot on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Jagadish (55), Babu (45) and Vennela (8).
Police said the deceased were returning home after a pilgrimage to Arunachalam shrine and the tragic mishap occured just half an hour before they could reach their home at Vanam Thopu locality in Nellore city.
