NEW DELHI: A Delhi court Wednesday cancelled the non-bailable warrants (NBWs) issued against former RAW agent Vikash Yadav on Monday in an alleged abduction and extortion case, noting that he had failed to appear in court due to a strike by lawyers. Additional sessions judge Saurabh Partap Singh Laler restored the surety furnished for bail and directed him to appear in court on October 17.
Yadav - who was charged by US authorities for his alleged role in a foiled plot to assassinate Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil - was arrested in Dec 2023 following a complaint from a Delhi-based businessman accusing him of extortion and abduction.
A chargesheet was filed in March 2024, and Yadav was granted bail in April 2024. On March 24, the court granted him exemption from personal appearance.
