SRINAGAR: Security forces on Saturday demolished four more houses belonging to active terrorists, a day after blowing up homes of two Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives linked to the Pahalgam massacre that killed 26 people earlier this week.
The latest demolitions bring the total to six houses destroyed in Kashmir valley over the past two days.
In south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, forces blew up the house of Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh, an active LeT terrorist who joined the group in 2023. In Shopian district, the house of top LeT terrorist Shahid Ahmad Kuttay, active for the past three years, was also demolished.
In Kulgam’s Matalhama area, forces demolished the house of Zakir Ahmad Ganie, while in Kupwara district, the house of Pakistan-based LeT terrorist Farooq Ahmed Tedwa was blown up.
On Friday, the homes of Aadil Hussain Thokar and Asif Sheikh were demolished with explosives. Both are Lashkar terrorists linked to Tuesday’s Pahalgam attack.
Intelligence reports say at least 14 local terrorists remain active in the valley, including eight associated with LeT and three each with Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad — three banned groups backed by Pakistan.
