NEW DELHI: Congress lashed out at Union home minister Amit Shah over his remarks on Manipur asking if the situation there was as normal as he has made it out to be then "why hasn't PM Modi found the time and inclination to visit Manipur every since the state erupted on May 3, 2023".
While demanding to know why PM Modi has not yet visited the state, Congress general secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh asked, "why hasn't the PM met with the key political figures of the state, including chief minister N Biren Singh , for a meaningful discussion?"
"Why is there no full-time governor and why has chief secretary not been in the state for past 45 days? Why are a number of MLAs and ministers no longer in the state, and why is the palatial BJP office in Imphal not functioning?," he asked.
