The reigning ONE Heavyweight MMA World Champion Oumar Kane , popularly known as Reug Reug , was involved in a serious car accident according to recent reports. The champion was in the United Arab Emirates, where the accident took place, and following this, he had been forced to withdraw from his upcoming match against Anatoly Malykhin . The match was set to take place at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on Sunday, November 16
The two-division MMA king Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin and Reug Reug were set for the face off at ONE 173 , but unfortunately, the car accident flipped the table on its head. The challenger himself was forced to withdraw, postponing the match until further updates are available. The extent of the athlete's injuries have not been made public yet, but he is, as of now, unable to train.
Reug Reug vs Sladkiy rematch postponed indefinitelyOumar Kane had challenged the Russian star, Anatoly Malykhin, for the ONE Heavyweight MMA World Championship during the main event of ONE 169, on November 8 of last year. The event took place at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. And one year since then, they were finally set to face-off once again, where Kane was going to defend his heavyweight title against the one he had won the title from. But now, fans will have to wait for these big shots to take their shot at each other for a little while longer.

The then-undefeated titleholder had tasted defeat for the first time during the ONE 169 event, where he lost to Rrug Reug after five rounds of entertaining battle inside the ring. This was going to be his chance to win back his title from the Senegalese star, and add another win to his current 14-1 record - the only loss in his career so far coming from his defeat against Kane. The Senegalese star currently is on a 7-1 record. The event still has 17 other matches listed for the night, even though the rematch between Reug Reug and Sladkiy has been postponed.
