Jhansi: An SUV, attempting to cross the railway tracks from an unauthorised point on the inervening night of April 16 & 17, was struck by a moving train, resulting in entire body of the vehicle being severely damaged. All three passengers travelling in the SUV, managed to escape without injury after jumping out of the vehicle at the last moment, despite their failed attempt to drive across.
The incident took place shortly after midnight, around 1am, when the Prayagraj-bound Bundelkhand Express was passing Magarpur railway station near Sakrar. At that time, an SUV, with registration from Farrukhabad, tried to cross the railway lines. As the train approached, the tyres of the SUV got stuck between the tracks. However, the passengers vacated the car and swiftly moved away, ensuring their safety. The train collided with the car, causing major destruction to the SUV.
Upon being notified, GRP personnel commenced a search for the passengers who were in the SUV. The damaged vehicle was removed from the tracks, with Sakrar police also reaching the site to take possession of the car and begin an inquiry. Initial findings indicate the car's occupants were on their way to a marriage ceremony.

RPF Commandment Vivekanand Narayan verified that three people in the car have been booked under section 153 of the Railway Act.
