Patna: To ensure rail safety and passenger convenience in summer, Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Jayant Kumar Choudhary conducted a surprise window trailing inspection in Danapur-Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) section of the East Central Railway (ECR) on Thursday.
During the inspection, DRM Choudhary closely reviewed the condition of railway tracks, especially on rail bridges and crossing points as part of ongoing summer safety protocols at Bihta, Gahmar and Kuchman stations. He evaluated the status of passenger amenities at various roadside stations, ensuring cleanliness, availability of drinking water and other required basic facilities were up to standard.
Choudhary said that he assessed the functioning of the signalling systems and other critical infrastructure to guarantee operational safety and punctual train movements on the DDU-Patna mainline. However, special focus was placed on implementing and monitoring summer safety measures , including hydration points for staff, track maintenance during high temperatures and electrical equipment performance, he said.
Railway officials accompanying the DRM were directed to promptly address any deficiencies found during the inspection.
