Agra: The UP tourism department on Friday launched the light and sound show titled ‘Rang-e-Agra: Yugon Ka Safar' (Colours of Agra: Agra through the Ages) at Agra Fort. In a ceremony held at the Agra Fort, the light and sound show was launched by the state's tourism minister Jaiveer Singh.

Presented through cutting-edge projection mapping technology, the light and sound show production has been developed with financial assistance from the World Bank, at an approximate cost of Rs 8 crore.

A statement by the UP tourism department said, "Spanning 5,000 years of Agra's history in just 45 minutes, the show transports audiences across time — from the mythic forests of Agravan to the banks of the Yamuna, tracing the transformation of Badalgarh Fort into the magnificent Agra Fort. Each scene is a cinematic leap into a new era, capturing the essence of the Delhi Sultanate, the zenith of the Mughal Empire, the colonial British period and culminating in the spirit of independent India."

The Hindi narration in the light and sound show will be delivered by Harish Bhimani, known as the voice of ‘Samay' in Mahabharat, while the English version is voiced by actor Kabir Bedi. The script of the light and sound show is penned by renowned filmmaker and historian Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi. The shows will be held both in Hindi and English.
