AGRA: A case has been lodged by a 28-year-old woman against Divyansh Chaudhary, 29, grandson of an ex-UP minister, for allegedly driving recklessly and colliding with her vehicle.
In her complaint, she stated the incident took place on Monday night on Agra's MG Road while she was returning from Meerut. The vehicle was being operated by her driver. "When my car passed the Hariparwat crossing, a car driven by Divyansh Chaudhary, struck my vehicle at least five times. My vehicle sustained damage," she stated.
Police on Tuesday said that an FIR has been registered at Hariparwat police station under BNS sections 281 (rash driving) and 324 (4) (mischief), and a probe is on. The CCTV footage is being examined, police added.
Notably, last April, a case was filed against Divyansh on a complaint by the same woman's father, who alleged that he tried to mow her down with his car. An FIR was registered against Divyansh for "attempt to murder" and "criminal intimidation" at Shahganj police station. Divyansh surrendered in an Agra court in July 2024, and was granted bail by Allahabad HC.
The woman's father said "his daughter and Divyansh were friends, but he pressured her to get married, following which, she distanced herself from him".
