Marine Corps senior Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino was arrested and is facing an investigation, The Naval Criminal Investigative Service confirmed. While the charges Trevino faces have not been made public, the West Coast recruit depot leader was fired last Thursday for 'loss of trust and confidencé'. NCIS took him into custory on September 11 and has placed him in pre trial confinement, Marine Corps Recruit Depot spokesperson Capt. Austin Gallegos told Marine Corps Times.“NCIS is continuing to investigate. We will not comment further while the investigation remains ongoing,” Gallegos added. Meanwhile, The Naval Criminal Investigative Service revealed on Monday that Trevino is in pretrial confinement. Who is Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino?Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino is a senior Marine Corps leader who joined the service in 2004. He was promoted to sergeant major in June 2023. He is yet to issue a statement on the arrest and his firing. "Trevino was awarded the Dan [Daly] Award for being the most inspiration[al] Drill Instructor of India Company and was also promoted to the rank of gunnery sergeant [in] March 2016," his biography says.
