A new trend is sweeping social media with over a hundred thousand users posting videos about it. Called 'in da clurb, we all fam,' the trend features audio from the Comedy Central sit-com 'Broad City' with users lip-syncing to it. As per a report by the USA Today, the clip has, so far, been used in over 135,000 videos, after hitting the internet's bandwagon in early October. It features a conversation between two female voices where they discuss nightclub etiquette. The conversation seems to suggest that everyone partying at a nightclub is part of the same family. The audio starts with one female voice asking the other: "Do you know them?," to which the other voice replies, "No, but in da clurb, we all fam.” "What?" the other voice asks. “In da clurb, we all fam,” the person says, again." Just as the other person starts speaking, "I don't..," another reply comes: “In the club, we are all family. Are you racist?”As per the USA Today report, the trend originated from a TikTok video by comedian Maggie Winters in which she lip-synced to the audio. Fellow TikToker Connor Woods joined her playing the other voice. Their video amassed over 12 million views and soon other TikTok users started picking it up. The 12-second audio clip is from 'Broad City,' an American television sitcom created by and starring Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. The show is based on their real-life friendship and follows their adventures as they navigate life in New York City. It aired on Comedy Central from January 2014 to March 2019. This particular audio clip appears in a 2016 episode of the show.
