A seemingly self-recorded video of an individual claiming to be a former high school student of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz surfaced. The individual in the video claims to be Matthew Metro, who studied under Walz at Mankato West High School, and alleges that Walz sexually assaulted him back in 1997. Times Now Digital cannot verify the authenticity of the video. However, Shayan Sardarizadeh, a senior journalist at BBC Verify - the fact-checking unit of BBC Verify, posted on X saying that the video has all the signs of a deep fake. Here's the video:

There were several other accounts suggesting that the video is a deepfake. Old photos of Matthew Metro from his school yearbook as well as his current photos from his Facebook account started surfacing with people saying that the person in the video does not look like Metro. One X user posted: I’ve analyzed the first 30 seconds of the video being shared on Twitter (X), allegedly featuring someone claiming to be Matthew Metro. Immediately, there are several indicators pointing toward a deepfake." Allegations Made Against Tim Walz In The Video Here's an excerpt of the allegations: "I'll now share my story because this happened to me too," the individual in the video says. "It happened in 1997. I was a student at Mankato Ways High School in Minnesota. "Well, I'm gay and I realized this when I was 14 years old. I never came out to talk about it. No one knew about it. Not my parents, not my classmates. Things were different back then. "In my senior year, I had a lot of problems piled up. My parents were going through a terrible divorce. And you know how it happens. Sometimes all you need is someone to talk to. Well, in my case, it was my teacher, Tim Walz."I’ve analyzed the first 30 seconds of the video being shared on Twitter (X), allegedly featuring someone claiming to be Matthew Metro.
