Actor Mel Gibson has publicly confirmed his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming election, launching a direct critique of Vice President Kamala Harris. Speaking to reporters at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Thursday, two weeks before the presidential election, Gibson, who has made contentious statements in the past, expressed his opinions.
Gibson Confirms Trump EndorsementAfter initially dismissing the topic of who he would vote for in the election, the 68-year-old actor swiftly declared his support for Trump, saying it was no mystery where his political allegiances lay. He stated that he would rather have the previous president serve a second term than have Harris take over as president. Gibson refrained from going into detail about what he thought a second Trump term would mean for the US. He did, however, make it apparent that he did not approve of Harris as the nation's leader. His comments were a part of a larger, unwarranted assault on her credentials. Criticism of Harris's Track RecordHarris, according to Gibson, has a "lackluster track record" and hasn't offered what he considered to be significant policy recommendations. Although he could not identify the specific areas of her record that he felt were lacking, he asserted that she had not shown any significant leadership ability.
In his most scathing comment, Gibson said that Harris had "the IQ of a fence post," a comment that Trump has previously made. Trump has repeatedly called Harris "mentally unfit" for the president and questioned her ability, referring to her as "mentally impaired." Controversial Past RemarksGibson has a history of making divisive remarks, which is in line with his most recent remarks. His racist, sexist, and antisemitic comments have drawn widespread scrutiny throughout the years. Gibson seems unaffected by the criticism he has previously received and is still expressing divisive opinions, this time directed at Harris. Although neither Harris nor her aides have responded as of yet, it is still unknown if Gibson's remarks will cause her campaign to take any action. The vice president has not yet responded to his criticism of her intelligence or his support of Trump in public. Election ApproachesGibson's outspoken backing of Trump as the election approaches is consistent with certain Hollywood figures who have continued to criticize the present government. Gibson's endorsement implies that he and others are still solidly in Trump's camp, despite the criticism that Trump and his followers have received.NEW: Actor Mel Gibson says Kamala Harris has the IQ of a "fence post" in footage obtained by @TMZ.

Gibson specifically called out Harris for her "appalling" track record.
Question: Who are you voting for? I'm gonna guess. Trump.
Gibson: I think that's a pretty good guess.… pic.twitter.com/ReQSGbypMt
