Antonio Cassano, former Italy international forward has literally lashed out at Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo during a recent Viva El Futbol podcast episode. The 42-year old didn't mince his words and said that the 39-year old legendary footballer doesn't know to play football! He has consistently expressed his views on the Portuguese forward, who made a switch to Saudi club Al Nassr after a dramatic and public fallout with his previous team, Manchester United.“Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t know how to play football. He could score 3000 goals, I don’t give a ****,” the ex forward cum attacking midfielder said in the podcast.During his playing days, Cassano played for many top clubs like Real Madrid, Roma, AC Milan and Inter and the reason why the Portuguese superstar do not fall under the Italian's good books because of his obsession of scoring only goals and ignoring link-up play with his teammates. “(Gonzalo) Higuain, (Sergio) Aguero, (Karim) Benzema, (Robert) Lewandowski, (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic and [Luis] Suarez knew how to link-up with the team. They knew how to do a lot of things, unlike Ronaldo whose only objective has always been to score,” he explained.“A guy like Cristiano has to think about himself and if you can’t do it anymore then you have to call it a day. It’s a rule in all sports. Retire, that’s enough! He has won everything, he has been a phenomenon, he has earned a lot of money and now he is not a starter at Manchester United,” he told about CR7 back in 2022.Ronaldo recently scripted history by scoring 900 senior professional goals in his career and has been brilliant so far in the Saudi by scoring 69 goals in 76 matches across all competitions overall.
