has reached his first 100 days in office, and after pledging to end the Russia-Ukraine war on day one, has come under fire for his peace plan tactics. While the US president has said multiple times he wants the war to come to a swift end soon, one expert has claimed the only effective thing achieved so far by the Trump administration has been playing into the hands of Russia and Vladimir Putin. Cédomir Nestorovic, professor of geopolitics and academic co-director of the ESSEC Centre for Geopolitics & Business, said the Republican was "taking into account the Russian narrative" and slammed his inaction in Ukraine.
He told the Express: "Trump promised to resolve the war in Ukraine in one day. This did not happen. The only thing he did was to take into account the Russian narrative instead of ." Mr Nestorovic explained that, while Mr Trump is being "realistic" in his approach to Crimea, his wavering support for Ukraine will only put it in more danger.

He added: "He is using a realistic approach by saying that the territories occupied by Russia will never be Ukrainian again.
"This could help end the conflict because Russia may take the territories and stop fighting. Without the support of the United States, Ukraine cannot win."
Crimea has been a point of contention recently as Volodymyr Zelensky said he would not accept any peace plan that recognised the territory as Russian.
However, Mr Trump said that the peninsula "will stay with Russia" and seemingly blamed Ukraine for causing the war, despite Moscow launching the full-scale invasion.
He told : "I think what caused the war to start was when they started talking about joining NATO." The president also maintained that Crimea was "lost years ago" and "is not even a part of discussion" in peace talks.
He previously questioned in a message he shared on Truth Social: "If [Ukraine] wants Crimea, why didn't they fight for it 11 years ago when it without a shot being fired?"
Mr Zelensky, on the other hand, has expressed his desire to regain the territory, making it a crucial part of his peace plan.
He said: "There's nothing to talk about here. This is against our constitution." The constitution states that Ukraine's sovereignty "extends throughout its entire territory" which "within its present border is indivisible and inviolable".
Mr Trump, who in recent days has voiced his frustration at Mr Zelensky and Putin, accused of making it difficult to achieve peace, told Time magazine this month that his claim he would bring peace to Ukraine in 24 hours was "an exaggeration" he had made "in jest". He told the publication: "Obviously, people know that when I said that, it was said in jest, but it was also said that it will be ended."
