A salad without dressing can taste bland and is not the most appealing thing to eat. While many pick up salad dressings or vinegarettes from the supermarket to jazz up this vegetable concoction, homemade salad dressing recipes are typically tastier.

Although there are many salad dressing recipes that have numerous amounts of ingredients, this one by Meaghan, the cook behind The Quicker Kitchen food blog, has the "easiest ever" two-ingredient recipe for you to follow. She said, "I love easy recipes that I can keep in my back pocket and pull out to look and feel super impressive. For example, making your own salad dressing sounds fancy. But you know what? It's the easiest thing ever to do. Just two minutes, a handful of ingredients, and one jar, and you are good to go."

Meaghan summed up the recipe: "Simple cream salad dressing takes only two minutes to make, and it's perfect to pour onto any greens. So much tastier than store-bought salad dressing."

Ingredients
  • One quarter cup of double dream
  • One teaspoon of wine vinegar, either white or red
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Method

This recipe couldn't be easier, as you just need to add the cream and vinegar to a mixing bowl and whisk them until the mixture is slightly thick.

Alternatively, could add the cream and vinegar to a mason jar, seal it and give it two to three shakes to thicken it.

If you do use a mason jar to make this, shaking it any more than three times will make it too thick.

Then, just season with salt and pepper to taste and pour over your salad or veggie mix.

Meaghan pointed out that this recipe makes the perfect amount of salad dressing for one regular-sized bagged salad, but you can easily double or triple the recipe, as needed.

If you feel that you need to add a little more flavour, pop in a crushed garlic clove or roasted garlic clove for a creamy garlic version, or chopped basil and a touch of Parmesan for a basil Parmesan dressing.
