Outlander's Sam Heughan announces he's leaving Scotland as he thrills fans with new update

The heartthrob, famed for his role as in the hit show, has been keeping his legion of followers in the loop with his recent escapades on social media platforms.

The filming of Outlander's eighth season has recently concluded, with Claire Fraser actress Caitriona Balfe and her co-stars shooting their ultimate scenes for the beloved historical fantasy series, it's been a whirlwind period for the team.

Despite the hectic schedule, this hasn't deterred Sam from embarking on a UK tour to promote his brainchild, Sassenach Spirits, which boasts an exquisitely blended Scotch whisky.

His latest jaunt took him to Scotland's northern reaches, where he teased his imminent departure to an entirely different locale over in the United States.

Broadcasting to his impressive 4.3 million Instagram admirers, Sam posted a fresh clip heralding his upcoming trip to San Francisco, California.

Brandishing a whisky bottle, Sam queried his audience: "Northern California, are you ready?"

He excitedly announced: "Yes! The Sassenach is coming to you. I'm so excited to say that we will be travelling all the way from the Highlands of Scotland to see you guys in the Bay Area on October 7.

"We'll be in San Fransico signing bottles of Sassenach whisky, our multi-award-winning whisky, maybe a wee dram with you guys as well.

"So come on down. Come say hi. I can't wait to see you all there," he encouraged, before uttering "Slainte mhath", the Gaelic term for "cheers".

In the accompanying caption, he penned: "From the North of Scotland... to NoCal! Our first Bay Area visit. Signing bottles of @sassenachspirits and perhaps sharing a dram or two! Join me Monday, October 7th @totalwine @totalwinebayarea Store #1125, 311 Gellert Blvd, Daly City, CA 94015. Monday, October 7th 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Can't wait to see you all there." (sic)

His fans were quick to flood the comments section with their excitement over Sam's brand-new adventure thousands of miles away.

"I'll see you Monday!! Slainte!" one fan eagerly wrote, while another exclaimed: "What?! My home town! Looks like I'll be heading home!!!" (sic)

"Hope it's an awesome event!!" a third fan expressed, as another pondered: "Oh only 3 hours from me... do I make the trip? Haha." (sic)
