In the latest instalment of Our Farm Next Door, patriarch Clive Owen delved into themes of legacy and age as he mused over handing responsibilities to his sons. With a touch of sentimentality, he confessed, "I am getting old."

The episode sees them grappling with the whims of the British weather. Clive shares his concern, remarking, "We are cutting grass today. Now is our time, but the weather has been very unsettled," highlighting the pressures farming families often face against the elements. "It is saying we might have three fine days, so we are having a go."

Capturing a family milestone, viewers observed Clive's son Miles taking on the task during his "first time" helping out. It was no menial task, as Clive elaborates on the challenges: "It is quite complicated, especially on these awkward fields."

Despite stepping back, Clive found humour in the situation, chuckling as he said, "It is something I have always done, and it's lovely that I am not doing it. So, I am just telling him off, and he is fed up of me already," showcasing the jovial ups and downs of their familial dynamic, reports .

The episode's heartfelt narrative continued as the audience watched Clive instructing his son, cautioning him to "Turn across, just be careful here. Down, down, watch what you're doing."

As the baton of responsibility was symbolically passed, Clive proudly observed, "They're grown-up, these lads, and it's good for them to take over these jobs. Miles is a young man now, so the mowing is for him."

Reflecting candidly on the passage of time and his farming career, he told viewers, "The kids grow up and become men. I am getting older, and I am not as strong as I used to be so yeah, it is good that these young guys take over."

Bringing closure to this chapter, Clive summed up with acceptance and a hint of nostalgia: "It's time to pass on the baton and let them do more and more, and that is how it is. I am here to watch over them and annoy them and we will get there in the end."

She penned a reminder before the show aired: "It's been a manic Monday so this is a late reminder that at 9pm you need to tune in to More4 for the last episode of Our Farm Next Door.

"If you miss it or forget then you can do the catch up thingy on All4."

Disappointed viewers took to social media, with one fan responding, "Really gutted as was enjoying watching this."

Another shared their sentiments, saying, "Ah so sad it has finished, it relaxes me so much just watching the programme."
