A stretch of the M6 has been closed after a crash sparked travel chaos and long delays for thousands of drivers.
Two lanes of the M6 are shut northbound between junction 17 at Sandbach and junction 18 at Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
There are long queues in the area, stretching back for miles. Commuters have been warned to expect heavy delays to rush hour.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach / Crewe) to J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel)."
Emergerncy services are on the scene and National Highways is present to deal with traffic.
