You Bet! On Tour made its triumphant return to screens on Saturday night, but not everyone was left impressed. The programme, a television staple throughout the 80s and 90s, made a comeback last year, with Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby fronting two special one-off episodes. The ITV show has now returned with a full series, but Stephen has left behind the studio and taken his challenges across the UK, giving contestants the chance to secure £5,000.
However, just minutes into the new series airing, fans issued a wave of complaints. Some begged for the return of original presenter Matthew Kelly, while others disagreed with the schedule. One fumed: "#YouBet (On Tour) is a pre-main event show, not the main event ITV are trying to make it with the 8pm scheduling. ITV should've kept You Bet back to January to replace Dancing On Ice instead of moving The Voice. Who'd have thought it would be possible to miss The Voice."
Responding to this, another said: "I'm enjoying it but I do agree with you they should of done that."
A third declared: "Bring back Matthew Kelly!! This format of #YouBet just isn't the same at all."
Announcing they were switching off, a fourth posted: "#youbet return on itv1 with (on tour) version. #youbetontour more freedom for more variety of challenges outside the studio, good thing. No Holly Willoughby co-host, again, good thing. But still not using original theme tune Still mixing in too much unnecessary slow motion camera!!! Still over top focus on celebrity guests constantly. Just two improvements on reboot last year... Watching more.... No."
Another raged: "Why do they keep bringing this dud back. Who cares if they can catch a frisbee. Bring on come dancing for something to watch. Sat night is awful."

Others disagreed and enjoyed the new format, with one writing: "First challenge of You Bet and I guessed right. Bigger and on tour feels so much better than in a studio! This show suits you @StephenMulhern."
Another echoed: "Cannot wait for this Stephen. So excited to see the show and so excited to see you back on our screens."
In the new series, which consists of six episodes, Stephen is joined by a host of celebrity guests, with the first episode featuring Josie Gibson, Josh Widdecombe and Alesha Dixon.
Other celebrities lined up to appear include Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, Danny Jones, Oti Mabuse, Greg Rutherford, Johnny Vegas and Rob Beckett.
Former presenter Holly will also make a guest appearance in the new series, having been forced to step down due to her busy schedule.
