fans who watched the latest episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire were left gobsmacked after a contestant made a risky guess, resulting in them losing £32,000. returned as the host to give more players the chance to have a crack at winning £1 million. The first player to appear in the hot seat was Amy, and she quickly made her way up the money ladder to bag herself £32,000. After showing off her impressive knowledge and using up all her lifelines, she was then left stumped at the £64,000 question. She had already set her safety net at £32K, knowing that if she got the answer wrong, then she would still walk away with that sum of money.
The £64K question involved types of trees, with Amy wildly guessing the answer 'Oak.' Unfortunately, Jeremy had to deliver the bad news that she was wrong, and the right answer was actually 'Yew.'
Despite getting it incorrect, Amy still walked away with a hefty prize fund, but fans at home were left baffled and unimpressed over her risky move. One person on X exclaimed, "Can't believe she didn't take the 64k."
A second person also chimed in, "£32.000 lost. Brave more like stupid. ." A third also similarly said, "Wild take, but I think gambling at £64k with a guaranteed £32k wasn't terrible, especially if she'd had her eye on £32k to start with. Gambling at £128k however, would have been WILD #Whowantstobeamillionaire."
A fourth defended Amy and typed, "Bravery didn't pay off this time, but Amy didn't do too badly with £32k. ."
Elsewhere in the episode, the next player, June made it all the way to £32,000 and was stuck on a question about The International Court of Justice, and was asked where in Europe it was located.
After using two lifelines, she was able to guess that the right answer was The Hague. She then walked away with a whopping £64,000, but could have made it further with £125,000 if she had gone with her gut and answered a question about an assassination plot regarding Elizabeth I.
