George Russell should show Toto Wolff the big two fingers and walk away. He's stuck in an impossible position with his boss constantly flirting with Max Verstappen - and publicly too.
Mercedes will always try to court the Red Bull star, they've wanted him for years.
The only way Russell can add doubt to that is by winning the world title. But even if the Silver Arrows create a Championship-winning machine, they'll still go after Super Max.
Russell is no longer Mercedes' golden boy and it can't be comfortable knowing his boss is spending time searching for a replacement, rather than putting 100 per cent into the current set-up.
He can leave with lots of credibility and his head held high if it's on his own terms.
But without a serious title challenge on his CV, the 27-year-old risks being thrown on the F1 scrapheap if he's fired.
Plus, Russell will put himself in Christian Horner's good books if he ruffles Wolff's feathers - where there would be a vacant seat...
Final thought
THE final thought has to go out to the families of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre. Deaths that have rocked the entire sporting world to the core.
It's unimaginable to think what they're going through right now but knowing Liverpool, he'll be given the best tribute possible and his memory will never be allowed to die.
