A Welsh trauma cleaning expert has opened up on an "eerie" murder scene discovery.
Channel 4 recently launched a hard-hitting new documentary series, Crime Scene Cleaners, which provides viewers with an intricate look at the angular and scarcely acknowledged field of trauma cleaning.
Streaming on Channel 4, this revealing ten-part series peels back the curtain on the obscure world of crime scene cleaning, granting exclusive insight into the daily lives of experts who tackle grim tasks in both the UK and the US.
The profession, often overlooked, brings its workforce face to face with chilling realities and potential dangers as they traverse various crime scenes.
The second episode threw focus on the meticulous retrieval of evidence from a rental car linked to a fatal stabbing in London, reports Wales Online.
After the police cleared the scene and compiled their evidence, the vehicle was dispatched back to a Welsh rental firm.
Specialist cleaners, Mark Holmes and Johnny Williams, were then tasked with eradicating all remnants of the harrowing incident.
The £30,000 car was soaked in human blood, and needed to be completely sanitised before the intense cleaning began.
Johnny opened up about the gritty reality behind their occupation during the clean-up, revealing the gravity of situations they frequently endure.
"Most people don't understand crime scene cleaning. Most people think we're doing a bit of dusting," he remarked.

"I've been with the company for a long time and I've seen a lot of jobs. There's one, there was a guy with a chop saw in his bedroom, and you could see this kid's photos on the bed, looking at the blood.
"That was quite eerie, you know you could tell what had happened, so that always lives in the back of my head."
Johnny added: "I always just switch off but that's easier said than done sometimes. But that's the job we're in."
Mark similarly shared: "In my previous job, every day was near enough the same. In here, there are no two days that are exactly the same, so it's always something different."
The specialist went on to say that while his colleagues would be open about some of the crime scenes they'd been to, there were others that they would refuse to talk about.
Crime Scene Cleaners continues on Channel 4 at 10pm on Monday 7 July or stream all episodes on Channel 4
