BBC fans can't stop binge-watching 'must watch' gritty crime drama with stellar cast

Fans of crime drama Scrublands can finally watch the second series, enititled Scrublands: Silver, months after it debuted in Australia. The four part first season was a huge hit when it landed on BBC Four and subsequently the iPlayer in November 2023. Based on the Chris Hammer novels, the series follows journalist Martin Scarsden, played by Luke Arnold, who, in series one was following what he thought was a simple story about a small isolated town rocked by tragedy after a local priest shoots dead five parishioners. As the community grieved Martin's story became ever more complex as he dug deep to reveal the truth behind what happened.

Season two Scrublands: Silver, which is based on the second novel of the same name, was announced in March 2024 and follows Martin again, but this time he returns to his childhood hometown of Silver with his new partner Mandy. However things take a turn when he finds his best friend dead and Mandy is the main suspect.

It already has rave reviews on Google from those who have seen it.

While a third series hasn't yet been annunced given the show's popularity it looks likely. If if follows the third book in the series titled Trust it will focus on Mandy's disappearance.
