's Naga Munchetty told co-star Ben Thompson "you are in trouble now" after he made a dig at Carol Kirkwood's latest weather segment.

Naga and Ben were back on presenting duty on Thursday (OCtober 17) monring to wake up the nation with the latest news headlines from across the globe, including the death of One Direction star Liam Payne.

They handed over the programme to Carol to find out the forecast over the new few days but Ben didn't seem to impressed with what the meteologist had to say about the weather.

Ben joked: "That is anything but special Carol. Thank you. I know you sometimes have to be the bearer of bad news but that's all a bit rubbish isn't it?" Naga added: "Not Carol, just the weather"

Carol said: "Don't sit on the fence Ben, for goodness' sake!". Naga went on to warn Ben: "You are in trouble now" and he sheepishly replied: "Always."

It comes after Ben was branded "cheeky" by Carol after he made a joke during her weather segment during Wednesday's (October 16) episode.

Carol was armed and ready with a meteorological update. Diving straight into the forecast, she warned viewers to "watch out" for heavy rain and strong winds in the coming days.

She went on to tell viewers: "Looks like we will have strong winds for some but across the Northwest we could have severe gales so that is something to watch out for, particularly if you're travelling or maybe camping for example but the position of it may yet change so that's one we're looking at closely so just wanted to give you a heads up."

Sally was keen to find out more as she then asked: "Carol, that is really useful to know. It's Wednesday today, how long will we have to wait for Sunday's forecast to be firmer?"

Carol confirmed that it would be a few days as she replied: "Just a day or two, Sal. With each passing day it becomes firmer. So it really is one we're watching so tomorrow we're hoping to have a better idea on where it is going to go."

Things then turned awkward as Ben made a cheeky dig at the star. Speaking about the weather ahead, Ben turned to Carol and joked: "And if you stay there does it not come because it's hidden behind you?"

A baffled Carol pointed at her dress and asked: "What are you saying? You cheeky thing, Ben." Everyone burst out laughing as Sally leaped to her defence and said: "I'll be having words with him." Ben added: "I'm in trouble."
