Christina Trevanion, the beloved presenter, has been inundated with messages of joy after revealing the latest addition to her family, which she affectionately refers to as the "missing piece from our family jigsaw puzzle".
The TV personality took to Instagram to share the touching tale, disclosing that she and her family were moved by a heartfelt appeal to adopt a cat in need.
In collaboration with the compassionate Cat Assist Team Whitchurch (CATW), Christina has opened her home to Sprout, an endearing feline who has overcome great adversity.
Sprout's story is one of resilience; he was found with broken legs and unable to walk. The CATW provided him with the necessary care, including reconstructive surgery on his front legs with steel rods, complemented by laser therapy and physiotherapy to facilitate his recovery.
After regaining his strength, Sprout was warmly received into Christina's household, and both the CATW and the antiques expert shared this inspiring story on social media, reports .
On Instagram, the CATW recounted: "Remember Sprout? Found roadside with two broken legs and a seriously uncertain future... well, here's his journey!"
They added: "Last October, Sprout strutted his way into his forever home, where he's now living his best life, being absolutely spoiled (as he should be).
"Snacks? Constant. Cuddles? Mandatory. Front legs? Fully functional and ready for biscuit-making," they whimsically concluded.
In a triumphant tale of rescue, the CATW exclaimed: "We're so proud of Sprout and beyond grateful to his wonderful adopters for loving him the way he deserves."
Christina, sharing CATW's sentiments on her own social media platform, also expressed her deep connection with Sprout, stating: "Sprout is the piece we never knew was missing from our family jigsaw puzzle."
She affectionately disclosed: "He is the sweetest, chattiest, cheekiest boy and gives the best cuddles! Thank you to CATW for giving Sprout a chance; we honestly couldn't imagine life without him."
Users on social media were quick to spread their happiness about Sprout being snugly rehomed. An elated Instagram user commented: "A perfect outcome after such challenging injuries and dedicated care."
Another chimed in with warm congratulations, penning: "Couldn't be in a more loving family home to enjoy living his best pampered life. Touches your heart deeply."
A third commenter wrote: "Sprout is an amazing little boy." Reflecting upon her experiences with Sprout, since celebrating their first Christmas together, Christina reminisced about the journey they began in early January.
She urged her followers to "adopt, not shop" when thinking of welcoming a new pet into their lives and described Sprout as "the sweetest, chattiest, most delightful addition to our family".
Bargain Hunt is available to watch on BBC iPlayer. The new series airs at 12.15pm on BBC One.
