Roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, roasted meat, and plenty of veggies make up the quintessential British meal that millions across the UK cherish dearly.

Equally revered alongside fish and chips, the traditional roast dinner holds a special place in the nation's culinary heart, renowned for its alluring scents and sumptuous flavours that gather loved ones around the dinner table.

While roast dinners are idolised by Brits, they aren't as commonplace across the pond. Our American friends are typically more infatuated with burgers, pizza, roast turkey, and mac 'n' cheese.

Yet, some adventurous US tourists tasting a British roast dinner for the first time have taken to Tripadvisor to express their opinions, with the beloved Yorkshire pudding remarkably impressing one diner.

Visitor Adam B. from San Francisco stopped by the Queen's Arms in London and described his experience in a review: "Reminds me of Sunday roast growing up back home in Connecticut."

But he noted: "But in the States, we don't eat them at a pub and the variety of fixings aren't as great. What a delicious way to start my stay in London! ".

Adam's excitement extended to the spuds as well: "Loved that there were roast potato slices and big fried potato chunks, a nice way to mix up the taters."

It was the classic Yorkshire Pudding, though, that truly made an impression on him, as he stated: "The Yorkshire Pudding is what really set this apart from an American roast dinner, since we sadly never do that back home."

He concluded, praising the dish: "Love the flakey fluffy bread that is this 'pudding' and especially love how it absorbs the gravy."

Opinions on the classic British roast dinner are divided among our friends across the pond, with Roy L. from Thousand Oaks near Los Angeles commenting: "This is relatively tasteless food. Discerning world travelers like myself may find this, as I did, not very tasty at all, and most certainly under-seasoned."

He further remarked: "This would be an excellent option if there was a famine, we were hoping for a more flavorful fare."

On the flip side, Jade C. from Diamond Bar couldn't contain her enthusiasm for the hearty meal, exclaiming: "I would like to personally request that America borrow the grand British tradition of Sunday Roast... PUHLEASE! "

She continued: "I want to be able to go to a pub or resto on any hungover Sunday and grab me a fatty slice of red meat accompanied with delicious Yorkshire pudding and all the dressings... and subsequently fall into a food coma of epic proportions."

She concluded with a lifestyle suggestion: "Wake up late, get down on yo Sunday roast, then knock out again - perhaps this is what all Sundays should be about."
