As Travis Kelce expands his repertoire to include game show host, fans are keen to delve deeper into the life of this sports icon.
The new series, Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday, October 16, with Travis Kelce taking centre stage as the host.
The show will challenge contestants to pit their general knowledge against a variety of celebrities in a bid to win a potentially life-changing cash prize.
With the Kansas City Chiefs star at the helm, subscribers are eager to learn more about him.
Early LifeBorn in Westlake, Ohio, in 1989, Travis is the son of Ed, a former steel industry sales representative, and Donna, a former bank executive, reports .
He is also the younger sibling of ex-NFL player Jason Kelce, who was a center for the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 years.
From an early age, the brothers were known for their mischief, even being "kicked out of pre-school" as toddlers.
On the New Heights podcast, hosted by the Kelce brothers, Travis revealed: "I got kicked out of pre-school because during playtime we were playing checkers, and I was winning because I don't f*****g lose at checkers and if you win you stay on."
When his teacher asked him to share, Travis refused, adding: "And [then I] threw the chair that I was sitting in at her."
Marijuana SuspensionTravis Kelce, after joining the University of Cincinnati and playing for the Cincinnati Bearcats football team, found himself in hot water more than once.
In 2010, the tight end was suspended for testing positive for marijuana, admitting in the Kelce documentary that he was "partying my a** off."
A random drug test led to Kelce being expelled from the team and his scholarship being withdrawn.
However, his older brother Jason managed to persuade the coaches to give Travis a "second chance."
To keep an eye on him, Travis moved in with his older brother who also helped pay for his tuition.
Success came knocking for Travis with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 when he was picked in the third round of the NFL Draft.
The 35-year-old set a new NFL record by reaching 11,000 receiving yards in the fewest games as a tight end, surpassing Tony Gonzalez, the previous record holder.
Earlier this year, he played a pivotal role in the City Chiefs' victory at the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas against the San Francisco 49ers.
Love LifeThree years post his draft, Kelce starred in his own reality show, Catching Kelce, where he dated women from all 50 states.
While he may not have found his soulmate on the show, he has since kindled a romance with singing sensation Taylor Swift.
The romance between Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce has been nothing short of a fairytale since their paths crossed in July 2023.
Kelce, who was left wanting more after attending Swift's Eras Tour concert in Kansas City, finally got his chance to connect with the songstress in New York, sparking a whirlwind love story.
Kelce opened up about the moment he fell for Swift on the New Heights podcast, saying: "Like damn, she's in the madness, she wants to be a part of it.
"She wants to support me and do things like that, I was like man, she really won me over with that."
In a delightful twist for fans, there's buzz about a Lifetime Holiday Movie inspired by the couple, titled Christmas In The Spotlight, set to release this year.
New Career PathsOn the career front, Travis Kelce is branching out from the gridiron. Alongside hosting the New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce, he's ventured into acting with a role in Ryan Murphy's Grotesquerie.
Now, with a new gig as the host of Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity on Prime Video, Kelce could be eyeing a future in television presenting.
Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity premieres on Wednesday, October 16, on Amazon Prime Video.
