Balangir: Police have handed over the body of a forester, who was found hanging from the ceiling of his official quarters at Bhawanipatna in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjaya Nayak (35), who worked in the forest research wing at Jaring. He was native of Rayagada and was recently transferred to Balangir. The body was seized in presence of a magistrate and later handed over to his family after postmortem.
Sources said that a letter also recovered from his quarters. Considering that he was found hanging with his feet touching the ground, his family members also suspect some foul play in his death. They have lodged a complaint with police, seeking fair and expeditious investigation.
“An investigation is underway to determine the actual cause of death,” said Bhawanipatna Town police station IIC Josobantna Hial.
