The country that drinks the most tea in the world

According to the World of Statistics, every person in Turkey drinks an average of 3.16 kg of tea annually. After this, 2.19 kg of tea is consumed per person in Ireland and 1.94 kg in Britain.

Pakistan is at the fourth place in this list, where 1.50 kg of tea is consumed per person. Surprisingly, India and China, which are the world's largest tea producing countries, are not even in the top 10 of this list. India is at the 23rd place, where 0.32 kg of tea is consumed per person. China is at the 19th place, where 0.57 kg of tea is consumed per person.

History of tea

The history of tea is believed to be about 4800 years old. There is a story of its invention that in 2732 BC, there used to be a ruler in China named Shen Nung. One day he was sitting in his garden and he asked his servant to bring hot water. When the water was getting heated, suddenly a leaf fell into it. At that time no one paid attention to that leaf, but when the king drank that water, its taste and color were different. The king felt very refreshed after drinking this drink. The bush of that leaf was growing in his garden itself. After this, people started boiling this leaf and drinking it and it was named tea. In this way, tea spread from China and became famous all over the world.
