FIR Filed Against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu Over Remarks on Rahul Gandhi's US Statements

New Delhi: An FIR has been lodged against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for his controversial comments regarding Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s statements made in the US about Sikhs, police confirmed on Thursday.

The Minister of State for Railways, Bittu, had made inflammatory remarks about Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the Congress leader is not a true Indian and suggesting that Gandhi should be labeled as the country’s "number one terrorist." The FIR was registered at High Grounds police station in Bengaluru following a complaint from a Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee officer-bearer.

Bittu criticized Gandhi's remarks on Sikhs during his visit to the US, accusing him of not loving his country and claiming that those who support terrorism appreciate Gandhi’s statements. He further claimed that Gandhi is the biggest enemy of the country and should be pursued by agencies as a top terrorist.

In response, Rahul Gandhi had said in Virginia that the core issue is whether Sikhs in India are allowed to wear turbans and visit Gurdwaras, emphasizing that the discussion is about fundamental rights and not merely political rhetoric. The situation has led to heightened tensions between the BJP and Congress, with Gandhi’s remarks now being scrutinized in the context of Bittu’s accusatory statements.
