Amid swirling rumors that President Donald Trump halted federal funding to Harvard University because his son Barron was rejected, the First Lady’s spokesperson Nicholas Clemens has firmly denied these claims. He clarified that Barron Trump never applied to Harvard nor considered it among his college choices.
Barron, 19, is currently enrolled at New York University’s business school. The recent funding freeze on Harvard is officially a policy decision by the Trump administration and unrelated to any personal reasons involving the President’s family.
The announcement comes alongside ongoing legal battles over the Trump administration’s attempt to restrict international students from enrolling at Harvard—a move currently blocked by a federal judge.
While critics worldwide condemn the funding cut as a blow to one of America’s most prestigious universities, the White House insists it is a matter of policy, not personal grievance.
