You all must have heard that whatever we do in our life is accounted for and after a person's death, his deeds are accounted for. Information about all these things is given in Garuda Purana. Garuda Purana is one of the 18 Mahapuranas of the Hindu religious text, in which information is given about everything from birth to death, heaven, hell, Yamaloka, reincarnation, etc.
According to Garuda Purana, when someone dies, the soul of those who do bad deeds goes straight to hell. They are given such a punishment that you will be shocked to know about it. Garuda Purana mainly describes 16 hells. In these 16 hells, one gets punishment according to the sins.
According to Garuda Purana, after death, Yamdoot takes the soul to Yamraj's court and Chitragupt tells the account of their deeds. After this, it is decided as per the deeds what punishment they will get. Therefore, along with doing good deeds, a person should speak the truth and should not think ill of anyone.
Those who lie get such punishment
Those who lie get a place in hell. You may think that you have been saved by lying but you will be held accountable for it in the court of Yamraj.
Those who sow lies go to this hell
In Yamraj's court, liars are also punished. Those who lie are sent to the Tapt Kumbh hell. In this hell, fire burns all around and there are hot pots, which contain hot oil and iron powder. The Yamdoots throw the sinful souls face down in these hot pots.
