Suzuki has officially unveiled the new XBee Facelift at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, bringing a refreshed design and advanced technology to its popular micro-SUV. First launched in December 2017, the XBee has carved out a strong presence in Japan’s compact SUV market. Though not currently available in India, its size and proportions are similar to small SUVs like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, making it an interesting model for potential entry into the Indian market.
Refreshed Design with a Modern Touch
While Suzuki has retained the XBee’s signature boxy and compact silhouette, the facelift introduces several modern design updates. The round LED headlights are now more pronounced, complemented by a slimmer honeycomb-pattern grille and a muscular front bumper. The raised stance, roof rails, and black cladding add to its rugged look, while the dual-tone paint finish and redesigned LED taillights enhance its contemporary appeal.
Tech-Loaded Interior and New Features
Inside, the updated XBee comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display (available on higher variants). Suzuki has focused on maximizing space efficiency, offering sliding rear seats, underfloor storage, and flat-folding rear seats for extra practicality. On the safety front, the car now includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, making it one of the most feature-packed compact cars in its class.
Efficient Hybrid Powertrain
Under the hood, the Suzuki XBee Facelift houses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine producing 81 bhp and 109 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT gearbox. Select variants will also feature Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel-drive system, offering improved handling and stability.
Will It Come to India?
Although Suzuki hasn’t officially confirmed plans to launch the XBee in India, its design and compact SUV appeal make it a great fit for the Indian market. If introduced, it could rival popular models like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, especially if Suzuki offers it with localized pricing and a strong hybrid setup.
