Jose Mourinho GRABS rival manager's face in angry bust-up that risks lengthy ban

Jose Mourinho was involved in an ugly altercation during the Istanbul derby with Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk, who was left on the floor after appeared to grab his nose during an on-field clash.

The incident came towards the end of a fiery match, which sparked angry scenes. Buruk stayed on the ground clutching his face after the incident as goalkeeper Fernando Muslera stormed over to confront Mourinho.

The boss, whose previous clubs include , and , was not one of the three people who were shown red cards in the aftermath as police were forced to intervene.

Mert Hakan Yandas, Kerem Demirbay and Baris Alper Yilmaz were all sent off after getting involved in the melee that followed, with all three red cards shown in the second minute of second half stoppage time.

While Mourinho escaped punishment on the night he could be hit with a retrospective ban following the clash, which quickly went viral on social media.

The incident capped a miserable night for Fenerbahce, who lost the match - which was a Turkish Cup quarter-final 2-1. Victor Osimhen scored both of Galatasaray's goals. Sebastian Szymanski scored for Fenerbahce.

Mourinho was appointed as Fenerbahce's head coach last June. Prior to his move to Turkey he had been in charge of AS Roma for three years.

Mourinho has previous form for being involved in an on-field altercation during his time at Real Madrid. The then-Los Blancos boss ended up poking former boss Tito Vilanova in the eye as tempers flared during a tense El Clasico clash.
