'Gentleman' Benny Blanco landed Selena Gomez with one important quality

Benny said that despite Selena getting “spicy sometimes”, he’s learned enough about his partner to know how to deal with an argument between the two of them. He said: "When I see something happening, it’s about guiding the missile, not adding a jetpack on top of it with machine gun artillery.”

“If I see her getting to a place where I’m like, man, in five minutes from now, this room could explore, I’m never gonna let it get to that five minutes from now,” Benny explained. “I’m gonna say, what are all the tools that I know that work for her that I’ve learned? Like, I’m not going to exacerbate a situation.”

Benny shared the importance of talking things through and figured out a solution to avoid being “in that situation where we’re both upset about something.” The producer also mentioned the importance of physical touch and it being “very big” to him as it often helps calming down a situation.

He concluded: “Just holding their hand while you’re telling them, or giving them a hug while you’re telling them and let them talk it out first and then after they talk it out be like, ‘Okay well, here’s what I think,’ and you can work through these things together in such an easy way.”
