BREAKING: Huge EastEnders star takes 'extended break from show' after bombshell storyline

fans won't be seeing one legend on their screens for months, as they take an extended break from Albert Square following a huge storyline.

Michelle Collins delighted fans when her character Cindy returned two years ago - but she made a sharp exit earlier this year. Now, it's been revealed she won't be seen back in E20 for a while.

Moving on to another venture, the 62-year-old has landed a role in dark comedy Motorhome Marilyn. "Michelle is taking an extended break from while she stars in the play," a source told The Sun.

"She will be off screens for months but bosses know it's important to let their biggest stars do other projects so they remain on the show long-term."

The source also revealed that bosses have huge plans for the character when she returns.
