Hyderabad: The MLA from Telangana's Bhadrachalam constituency, Dr Tellam Venkat Rao, on Friday, saved the life of a Congress worker by giving him cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The incident was recorded on camera and soon its video started doing rounds on social media.
According to a report published in Telangana Today, Venkat Rao along with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao attended several events in Bhadrachalam on Friday. During one of the events a Congress activist, Thotamalla Sudhakar, reportedly suffered a stroke.

After Sudhakar suffered a stroke, the MLA immediately rushed towards him and his timely action saved his life. The video shows, Venkat Rao giving CPR to the Congress worker. Sudhakar was rushed to Government Area Hospital in the town.
He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. His condition reportedly improved. After the video went viral, the MLA received praise from netizens for saving the life of his party worker.

"Saving any life is a noble act deed appreciate this MLA for his gesture but remember for a Neta to get elected this should not be a check pointer we should see what constituency development has he done how he communicates with residents," another user commented.
However, some of the X users called it "staged".
"Dude he is not even giving compression, this one is mostly staged," a user wrote.
"Wrong method. But thankfully he survived," another X user commented.
Venkata Rao won the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections from the Bhadrachalam seat in December 2023 on the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) ticket. In April 2024, he joined the Congress.
