Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has dismissed reports of receiving Chinese J-35A fighter jets by 2026 and termed the reports as media speculation.
Speaking to Arab News a few days ago, Asif dismissed reports that his Pakistan will receive J-35A fighters in 2026. He said that the reports are only in the media and are good for Chinese sales.
“I think it’s only in the media, you know. It’s only in the media and it’s good for sales, Chinese defense sales,” the Pak minister said.

Earlier last month, there were many reports that China had fast-tracked the delivery of its J-35A jets to Pakistan. Some reports had claimed that Pakistan will receive the first batch of stealth fighters by August 2025.

The fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, was unveiled in November 2024 at the Zhuhai Air Show. The J-35A is a twin-engine, multi-role fighter jet renowned for its stealth capabilities.
