Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A magnificent 6-lane 'Iconic Bridge', being built on Narmada River in Mortakka of Barwaha Tehsil on Indore-Ichhapur National Highway, will be decorated at a cost of Rs 27 crore.
MP Shankar Lalwani informed here on Saturday that the under construction 6-lane bridge is going to be a significant one. Being constructed on close to Omkareshwar Jyotirling the design of the bridge will also be very special and inspired from spirituality.
The bridge is 1.5 km long and 30-metre high from Narmada bed level. The 6-lane bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 140 crore.
MP Lalwani mentioned that in the tender issued for construction of the bridge did not include the amount required for its decoration. In this regard, he drew the attention of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari last month through a letter.
MP Lalwani informed that he has received information from Minister Gadkari’s briefing about the allocation of Rs 27 crore for the decoration of the bridge. The iconic bridge will reflect the religious and cultural importance of the area.

The view of this bridge will be beautiful at night, with special lighting and design
Vehicles will slow down while passing through the bridge so that passengers can have darshan of Mata Narmada
Statues of Mata Ahilya will be installed on both ends of the bridge, as Maheshwar is also connected to this area
This bridge will not only strengthen road connectivity, but will also give a new direction to religious tourism
