YouTuber Gaurav Taneja faced a backlash for sending his pet dog, Mau, to his farmhouse. Netizens raised questions to the content creator noticing the absence of the doggy in his recent videos. They speculated the dog was abandoned or dead, but Taneja soon clarified Mau was doing fine. He mentioned about shifting Mau to the other property, where it stayed with two other canines.
But why was the dog relocated from his residence dog to the farmhouse? As netizens demanded a statement from him, he released a video explaining his action.
"Shastron mein nished hai. Samjho kuch baato ko. And, jis ghar mein Thakur vigraha hota hai, uss gharmein apavitra mana jata hai (Shastras don't permit it. Try understanding this. It is considered impure to keep a dog when you a at home)", he said.

In the video, the YouTuber stated there were many reasons, of which one was the religious restrictions. "Bahot reasons hai. Father ko dikkat thi. Unko allergy thi", he said, suggesting his father's concerns about the dog was also one of the reasons of shifting his pet to the farmhouse. "If someone asks me who's important between my father and the dog, it's surely my father who comes first", he added.
Here's what netizens said
He should have known this before getting a pet. He is misusing religion to justify his convenience and doing the biggest blunder to use Thakurji as an excuse.

He's a bloody fraud. Stop fawning over these callous celebrities who keep a dog for show and then shunt it out of their lives.

Where does Hindu religion prohibit keeping a dog or pet animal?
Several users shared Taneja's explanation on social media and the video went viral. While a few reacted, saying, "To be fair the dog is much happier in the farm", others didn't agreed with Taneja's explanation. "He should have known this before getting a pet. He is misusing religion to justify his convenience", netizens wrote.

Amidst this, Taneja posted a video of visiting his farm and greeting Mau. The visuals showed the dog chained and barking. A man, appearing to be a caretaker, petted Mau for a brief while and left. Taneja went inside and played with his doggo, recording the happy moments on camera.
The internet was upset on seeing the fate of Mau, which initially stayed at his residence but was not tied, chained, at left at his farmhouse under the care of workers.
"Mau was tied in a chain, so heartbreaking", one user commented. "Shameful you are to leave him. I feel you live for views only", another wrote accusing the YouTuber.
