New Delhi: Two women Maoists were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, police said on Thursday. The bodies of the killed Maoist cadres were identified as Seema, area committee member, Kutul, and Linge, alias Ranjhu, party member, Kutul local organisation squad. The two together carried a reward of ₹6 lakh, police said.
Police recovered an INSAS rifle, a country-made .315 bore rifle and 15 rounds of .303 rifle ammunition. A large quantity of other explosive materials, Maoist literature and various daily-use items were also recovered, Bastar police said on Thursday. The joint operation was carried out by teams of District Reserve Guards, STF and ITBP based on Intelligence inputs regarding the presence of senior Maoist cadres of the Maad division.
