Salim Khan, the father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, encountered a disturbing threat during his morning walk at the Bandra promenade. While resting on a bench during his morning walk, an unidentified man on a scooter, accompanied by a woman dressed in a burqa, approached him. The pair mentioned the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, with the man reportedly saying, "Lawrence Bishnoi ko bulau kya (Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?)" according to news reorts.

Given the past threats Salman Khan has faced, the mention of Bishnoi immediately raised alarms. The Bandra Police were promptly informed, and an investigation was launched. Authorities swiftly reviewed CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits. However, upon further inquiry, it was determined that the incident was a case of mischief rather than a serious threat. The individuals involved had no criminal records, and they were detained by the police for questioning.

A police source confirmed to TOI that the pair’s actions were not motivated by any criminal intent but were merely a prank. However, the incident comes at a time when Salman Khan and his family have been receiving multiple threats. Earlier in April, two men on a motorcycle fired shots outside Galaxy Apartments, Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra. This attack was linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been notorious for targeting high-profile figures. . The police have already arrested six people in connection with the April shooting.

Following that incident, Salman Khan was granted Y-plus security by the Mumbai Police, which includes armed escorts, due to the increased threat level. In addition to police protection, Salman continues to rely on his trusted bodyguard Shera for personal security

Salman Khan had previously recorded a statement with the Mumbai Crime Branch regarding the April attack, detailing that he was awakened by the sound of gunshots hitting his balcony. His brother, Arbaaz Khan, also acknowledged being aware of the ongoing threats from the Bishnoi gang.
