A 35-year-old food delivery agent was allegedly assaulted by three men near Modi Hospital Junction on West of Chord Road around midnight on Saturday, according to a report by The Times of India (TOI).
The delivery agent, identified as Pemaram, was waiting at a red signal when the incident occurred. He had just finished a delivery and was heading towards Navarang Theatre when three men on a scooter honked at him and asked him to squeeze through a narrow gap between vehicles.
Refusing to Move Sparked the Assault
As per TOI, Pemaram refused to move forward as the signal was still red. The men then stopped their scooter, got down, and started abusing him. "The trio got down from the scooter, started abusing me and then assaulted me. They beat me for nearly eight minutes," Pemaram told the publication.
A crowd gathered at the spot during the assault, which eventually forced the attackers to flee the scene.
Traffic Disrupted Briefly
The incident caused a brief disruption to traffic at the junction. Pemaram later went to KC General Hospital for treatment and then filed a police complaint at Basaveshwaranagar police station.
Police said they are currently trying to identify and arrest the three accused.
