New Delhi [India], October 3 (ANI): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday attended the 'Sant Ishwar Samman Samaroh' programme, organised by Rashtriya Seva Bharti and the Sant Ishwar Foundation.
In his address, he said, "I am always in search of good people and organisations so that we can learn from them and, in coordination, work together in the service of the country. I believe we need organisations like the Sant Ishwar Foundation. I congratulate all those honoured today and extend my gratitude to everyone involved with the Sant Ishwar Foundation."
As the nation marked the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and participated in the nationwide Swachhata Campaign, the Union Minister emphasised that India's cleanliness is a matter of national pride.
Rijiju stated, "Today, I had the opportunity to participate in several programmes, and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched across India, has become a people's movement. We want everyone to engage in such initiatives. If India remains clean, we will all take pride in it."

Earlier today, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari attended a 'Swachhata Bharat Abhiyan' event in Nagpur on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, where he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting the programme nationwide.
"The Swachhata Abhiyan has significantly contributed to improving the quality of life for the common man. Clean water, clean air, and pesticide-free vegetables are key to maintaining our health. The Swachhata Abhiyan is receiving tremendous public support. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 'Swachh Bharat' vision of Mahatma Gandhi is becoming a reality," Gadkari said.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also attended a Swachhata Abhiyan event at Garden Reach in Kolkata, West Bengal, where he paid tribute to Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar was also present.
Extending his wishes to the public on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Vaishnaw noted that it also marked the beginning of 'Devi Paksha'.
"Today is Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, and it coincides with the start of 'Devi Paksha'. As we celebrate the Swachhata Abhiyan across the country, we must ensure cleanliness is maintained everywhere," Vaishnaw said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined a cleanliness drive with schoolchildren to mark 10 years of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. He remarked that the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' is the largest and most successful movement of this century, one that will be remembered for years to come.
The Prime Minister added that the Swachh Bharat Mission symbolises the people's energy, demonstrated through public participation and leadership.
"The Swachh Bharat Mission represents the selfless commitment of millions of Indians. Over the past 10 years, millions have embraced this mission and made it a part of their daily lives," PM Modi said. (ANI)
